What LocalMatal is
LocalMatal is a public chain of places. Anyone can contribute one place at a time. There are no accounts, no profiles, and no feeds. The product is the chain itself.
Content rules
By submitting, you agree that your submission:
- Is a real, outdoor place — not a person, an interior, a branded logo, or a fictional location.
- Contains no identifiable faces — photos must not show recognisable people. Silhouettes or distant figures in an environmental context are acceptable at the maintainer's discretion.
- Is an original first-person description — you wrote it; it describes your personal connection to the place.
- Connects to the current chain entry — your description must share at least one concept (a feeling, image, or concrete noun) with the description it follows.
- Does not contain hate speech, explicit content, spam, or personal information about any identifiable individual.
Moderation
All submissions are reviewed by the site maintainer before publication. There is no appeal process. The maintainer may edit place names or contributor names for clarity or safety before approval. Rejected submissions and their images are permanently deleted.
Intellectual property
By submitting, you grant LocalMatal a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and archive your photo and description as part of the chain. You retain ownership of your work. If you want your entry removed, see the Privacy Policy.
Tombstoning
An approved entry may be tombstoned (removed from display) if it violates these terms after approval, or on a valid takedown request. Tombstoned entries are replaced with a gap marker; the chain topology is preserved.
No warranties
LocalMatal is provided as-is. The maintainer makes no guarantees of uptime, permanence, or continued operation. The chain may be paused or shut down at any time.
